Advertised planning permit applications

 DRAFT AMENDMENT TO THE DEVONPORT LOCAL PROVISIONS SCHEDULE AND
CONCURRENT SECTION 40T PERMIT

Sections 40G & 40Z of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993

Notice is hereby given of the following draft amendment to the Devonport Local Provisions Schedule (forming part of the Tasmanian Planning Scheme – Devonport) and concurrent section 40T planning permit:

Amendment No:                 AM2023.02

Proposal:                             Rezone part of 200 Stony Rise Road, Stony Rise (CT 163007/2) from Community Purpose to General Residential;

Application No:                  PA2023.0067

Proposal:                             Boundary adjustment

Address:                              200 Stony Rise Road, Stony Rise and 1 Lapthorne Close, Don

This application is subject to approval under the Historic Cultural Heritage Act 1995.

The draft amendment can be viewed at the paranaple centre or on Council’s website.  Sections 40J & 41 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 provide that representations can be made in writing to the undersigned at PO Box 604, Devonport or [email protected] to be received by 5pm on Friday, 3 May 2024.  

Discretionary planning permit applications

Discretionary planning permit applications are made under section 57 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993. These are applications which Council has the discretion to either approve or refuse based upon compliance with the requirements of the planning scheme.       

Discretionary planning permit applications are subject to a mandatory public notification process which includes a 14-day public exhibition period where any person may inspect the application. The details for each application is made available for viewing:     

  • in the paranaple centre at 137 Rooke Street, Devonport (plans are displayed on the Ground Floor adjacent to the Customer Service desk); and
  • online via Council’s website (see the below list of permit applications currently on exhibition).

Make a representation

Representations (e.g. written submissions) on discretionary planning permit applications can be made during the public exhibition period and may either be in support of or against what is proposed by the application.

You have until the submission closing date specified for each application in which to lodge a representation with Council. Representations received after the close of the public exhibition period cannot be accepted.  

Representations can be submitted:

(Please note that representations submitted via email or mail should be addressed to the General Manager and reference the relevant planning permit application number).

After viewing a planning permit that is on public exhibition, should you have a query you can make a booking with a Council Planning Officer. The booking can be for a returned phone call, video meeting or a face-to-face meeting.
