Finance Manager

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a Finance Manager to ensure all Council’s statutory obligations in relation to financial activities are met. You will be responsible for managing the annual budget, timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with statutory and audit requirements, and providing timely and accurate financial information to support decision making.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

ESSENTIAL

– CA/CPA qualified

– Tertiary qualifications in accounting, financial management or related field

– Experience in a similar position with responsibility for financial analysis, planning and the production of financial reports and budgets

– Local government accounting experience or sound understanding of the local government industry and the range of services delivered

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels

– Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team

– High level of analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement improvements and efficiencies

– Deadline-driven

– Ability to prioritise and achieve consistent results

DESIRED

– Experience with LEAN Continuous Improvement

– Strong process and system knowledge (TechnologyOne)

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel and other Office applications
