Mission Statement

To see the youth in Devonport represented and promote positive change in the community.

What we do?

We are a proactive community that wants to see positive change in Devonport. We see ourselves as a voice for the youth in the city.

Why are we here?

We want to provide an opportunity for young people to have an input into decisions that affect our community.

Our Involvement So Far

DEVYAG has actively consulted with the Devonport City Council, Volunteering Tasmania Inc and Libraries Tasmania with numerous policies, strategies and initiatives.

DEVYAG has also attended Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF)  which allowed them to to come together with other youth leaders to share their view and opinions on youth issues.

It also provided them a chance to share ideas and potential solutions to issues effecting the youth of Tasmania.

How can you reach us?

Music in the Square

Devonport’s Youth Advisory Group (DEVYAG) is hosting their second (v2)  Music in the Square (MISQ) event.

Music in the Square is a platform for people to broadcast their talents and showcase them to the wider community.

This year we are targeting the 16-45 age group, so if you sing, dance, a poet (spoken word), or play an instrument we invite you to participate.

There will be free food and refreshments on the night.

Please register your interest here, and if you would like to provide a sample of your work, then email us at [email protected]

“This is a fun, casual, non-competitive, non-judgemental, and free opportunity for young people to express themselves. A chance where you do you!”

“It’s a good opportunity for young people to show off their talents. They might just sing at home but have no place to actually put their talents out there.”
