Devonport’s Financial Assistance Scheme Extends Support to Community Groups and Organisations

Devonport City Council is pleased to announce that applications for the 2023/24 Community Financial Assistance Scheme are now open. This scheme aims to provide invaluable financial assistance for a diverse range of activities, initiatives, and programs that benefit our community.

Council is committed to supporting and nurturing the local community. Through the Community Financial Assistance Scheme, it aims to empower community organisations and groups in their tireless efforts to make a positive and lasting impact.

The Community Financial Assistance Scheme encompasses two main grant categories: Major and Minor grants.

“Council continues to offer support to local community groups, clubs, and organisations, assisting in the delivery of significant projects and programs that benefit our residents,” said Mayor Alison Jarman.

“These community entities play a pivotal role in developing a healthier, stronger, and more vibrant Devonport, and Council is proud to assist them in their endeavours.”

By facilitating their valuable work, Council aims to foster community development, culture and heritage, economic development, sport and recreation, and healthy living and learning.

The scheme offers a diverse range of grants catering specifically to not-for-profit community organisations and groups. These grants encompass community projects, infrastructure initiatives, events, equipment purchases, individual development grants, and donations.

Applications for Major and Minor grants will be accepted from 1st July to 31st August 2023.
