Devonport City Council has committed $50,000 to the Devonport Event Sponsorship Fund – Winter 2024 Round as a priority of the Devonport Events Strategy 2024-2030.

The Fund seeks to attract events with unique content and profiling opportunities that maximise opportunities for the Devonport community and businesses. Sponsorship is available for events held on Council sites from July to 30 September 2024.

“Council aspires to see an engaging events portfolio for the City featuring arts, cultural, sporting, and leisure events delivered by a range of entities.” Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman said.

“Through the Sponsorship Fund we are hoping to attract submissions from commercial and non-profit organisations that can deliver a new event or one that is substantially different from previously held events during the off-peak and shoulder winter season this year.”

Applications will be assessed by a panel of Council elected members on how well the application demonstrates event appeal, profiles the City, economic and social benefits, and whether the application provides value, with relevant money in proportion to the sponsorship amount requested and scale of the event.

Submissions will be assessed in order of receipt and will continue until the program closes (3 June 2024) or until the funding allocated to this round is exhausted.

Devonport City Council is committed to supporting the implementation of festivals, events, and attractions in alignment with the Events Strategy, marking it as a term priority.

Submissions close 9am Monday 3 June 2024.
