As the deadline approaches, Devonport City Council extends a reminder to not-for-profit organisations within our community: the window for submitting applications for the first round of the 2024 Community Financial Assistance Grants is rapidly drawing to a close. This initiative presents a valuable opportunity for those looking to positively impact Devonport, with the final date for submissions set for Wednesday, 28 February 2024.
“These grants are designed to empower local organisations committed to enhancing the cultural, environmental, and social foundation of our community,” Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman said.
Council is keen to support projects that align with these goals, encouraging applicants to seize this opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our city. The Community Financial Assistance Scheme encompasses two main grant categories: Major and Minor grants.
“We are looking for projects that not only address immediate community needs but also pave the way for long-term positive impact,” Cr Jarman said.
“I strongly encourage our local not-for-profit organisations to apply and help us to continue to create a legacy of positive change in our city.”
Through its support, Council is committed to promoting community development, cultural and heritage preservation, economic growth, sports and recreation, as well as enhancing healthy lifestyles and educational opportunities. This program provides a wide array of grant options designed exclusively for not-for-profit community organisations and groups.
The available grants cover a broad spectrum of needs, including community projects, infrastructure development, events, equipment acquisition, individual development grants, and donations. The window for submitting applications for Major and Minor grants is open from 1st January to 28th February 2024.
