Devonport City Council, in collaboration with the Devonport Youth Advisory Group (DEVYAG), is thrilled to announce the return of MISQ Music in the Square, a captivating event designed to celebrate the immense talent of our region. DEVYAG invites artists, aged 15-45, to join them for an unforgettable evening of performances and camaraderie. 

Music in the Square is a dynamic platform showcasing the diverse talents of our community. DEVYAG currently seeks local performers that have a passion for singing, dancing, poetry and playing musical instruments and want to share their talents with the wider community. 

Date: 11 August 2023  

Time: 5-8pm  

Location: paranaple centre, Ground Floor, 137 Rooke Street, Devonport 

As part of Council’s commitment to fostering artistic expression in Devonport’s youth, Mayor Alison Jarman encouraged locals to participate.  

“Share your gifts and connect with like-minded peers and mentors, as we aim to create an atmosphere of encouragement and support,” Cr Jarman said. 

“This is a great opportunity to get your name out there, and a safe space for young people to spend their Friday night and enjoy free food and drinks”, added DEVYAG member Talia Beswick. 

To participate in this celebration of creativity, all interested performers are requested to register their interest by visiting our website at www.devonport.tas.gov.au/events/misq-v2-music-in-the-square/. Additionally, artists are welcome to provide a sample of their work by emailing [email protected]. Samples will assist in curating a diverse and engaging lineup for the event.
