Symphony on the Waterfront tickets available

Tickets for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s Novotel Devonport Symphony on the Waterfront will be available from 10:00am on Tuesday, 17 January 2023.

The free tickets to this prestigious event to be held in the newly opened Waterfront Precinct on Saturday, 11 February 2023, will be available from the TSO website –  https://www.tso.com.au/events/symphony-on-the-waterfront/ [1]

The free community event is being sponsored by the Novotel Devonport and supported by Devonport City Council.

Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman said it was an honour for Devonport to host the event, and the excitement was building as the event is nearing.

Cr Jarman said up to 5,000 people were expected to attend the outdoor concert with pre-concert entertainment planned for the entire family in the new parklands.

“This is such a great event to host in our city and a privilege to give back to our community through this free concert in partnership with the TSO and the Novotel Devonport,” Cr Jarman said.

“It will also be an opportunity to showcase the new waterfront park precinct, and to demonstrate how the space can be well utilised for a large community event”.

“While our community has been able to access sections of the Waterfront Precinct as various stages have reached completion, this event provides an important opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the realisation of a long-held vision to reconnect the CBD with our beautiful river and foreshore. It also enables us to acknowledge the important partnerships that are the foundation of Council’s LIVING CITY vision, including the funding support received from the Australian Government to deliver this important project, and continue the transformation of our beautiful city”.

Event activities will commence at 5.45pm in the Waterfront Precinct with the new parklands being officially opened by the Mayor, and Senator Anne Urquhart.

A community performance by Right on Cue Choir will precede the concert by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra that is due to start at 7.00pm.

Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Marketing and Communications Executive Frances Darcey said that the TSO were thrilled to have been invited by Devonport City Council to help celebrate the opening of such a fantastic addition to the City.

“When else will you get to see a full orchestra live by the water?  It’s going to be a magical evening for the whole family”, Ms Darcey said.

Council is also supporting Street Eats in Market Square, commencing from 3.00pm prior to the concert, with all of the usual fantastic food and hospitality vendors in attendance for concert goers to enjoy.

Novotel Devonport Symphony on the Waterfront is a smoke free event.
