A reminder that the Devonport basketball stadium will play host to one match in the NBL Blitz next month.
New team South East Melbourne Phoenix will play the Sydney Kings on Friday 20 September at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available online through the NBL.
I hope that basketball fans will get out and support this game to show how popular the sport is in Devonport and hopefully lead to more NBL games coming to the region in the future.
Following from the success of a similar event in July, The Bass Strait Maritime Centre has teamed up with artist Elysium Greene and the Pearl Oyster Bar to host another art and wine evening in the museum’s cafe space this evening.
No experience in painting is necessary and participants can choose to either follow along with Elysium or create their own piece inspired by the collection items presented, while learning more about the objects themselves.
While art is interesting to many people not everyone would go to a formal art class at a gallery as it would be far too intimidating.
It is hoped that a casual approach – with a glass of wine in hand and a fun, experienced artist – will give people the confidence to come along for a fun evening of art and wine with friends.
The collection item chosen for the second instalment of Vino and Visual is a wonderful photograph called Sunrise, by A.W. Marshall.
