As part of the 2020/21 budget consultation process Devonport City Council is inviting community members to put forward their ideas for projects and initiatives which they feel will benefit the community.

This is the fifth year that Council has sought input from the community into the budget process.

The consultation process is the perfect opportunity for interested community members to help shape the delivery of City projects and infrastructure.

By taking this out to the community, it allows Devonport residents and ratepayers to have direct input into Council’s budget and decision-making process.  All suggestions made will be considered by Council as part of the annual budgeting cycle.

The consultation process has proven successful in the past. Council has already either implemented or ear marked several projects that were suggested by community members in previous budget consultation processes.

Projects which have flowed from the consultation process in recent years include the construction of an enclosed dog exercise area,  providing lighting along sections of Victoria Parade, further development of the month-long Festival of Learning and modifications to the Middle Road/Bass Highway off ramp.

Ideas can be submitted through www.speakupdevonport.com.au [2], by emailing [email protected] [3], by completing a form available from Council’s Customer Service Centre or in writing to PO Box 604, Devonport, Tas, 7310.

The consultation period will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, 28 February 2020.
