The Cradle Coast Authority and the University of Tasmania have recently launched surveys aimed at better understanding the impact of the COVID-19pandemic on both the general and business communities in the region.
The Cradle Coast survey is focussed on businesses and other organisations in the region.

The University of Tasmania is undertaking research on Tasmanians’ experience during the pandemic.
It aims to identify experiences and concerns from across the State to help inform a wide range of areas into the future.

It will close at midnight on Wednesday 17 June.
The findings will be summarised and published as a resource for those making critical decisions in response to the pandemic

Residents are reminded that Council reintroduced paid parking in its car parks yesterday.
It follows the decision to reintroduce paid parking to street meters effective from Monday 25 May.
Now is considered an appropriate time to re-introduce the fees, which were initially suspended in March, as businesses within the city are beginning to reopen, albeit slowly, and it is important
Council supports them by ensuring that parking opportunities exist for customers seeking to access shops.
Council will continue to look at ways of providing support to the community, and particularly local businesses as they seek to get back on their feet.

Yesterday also saw the reopening of The Visitor Information Centre, in the paranaple arts centre.
Social distancing will be in place and anyone feeling unwell is encouraged to not visit.
The centre will be open until from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Council will advise when other facilities are re-opened.

The Mersey Vale Memorial Garden will be closed to the public from today, Tuesday 16 June, until Friday 19 June to allow for the installation of new columns.
Obviously, the work is dependent on suitable weather.
Only the memorial garden is affected, and the remainder of the Cemetery will be open as normal during the work.
