RAN vessel HMAS Stuart will receive Freedom of Entry to the city when it visits Devonport at the end of February.
Devonport has had a number of visits from HMAS Stuart in the past and is the ship’s ceremonial home port.
HMAS Stuart will visit Devonport between Friday 28 February and Monday 2 March.
The event will add value to several activities being held at that time including the Triathlon and Devonport Regatta.
HMAS Stuart was last granted Freedom of Entry to the city in 2014.

The Devonport City Council will support a planned bushfire relief concert scheduled to be held in the city later month.
Council will reallocate funding previously committed to the Taste of The Harvest Festival to support the Sea FM and 7AD Fire Relief Concert through the provision of necessary facilities, equipment and staffing.
The concert is planned to be held in either the Town Hall or paranaple convention centre on Friday 21 February.
The total estimated commercial value of Council’s contribution to the event, including venue hire, ticketing fees, equipment hire and staffing is between $10,000 and $12,000.

A seat commemorating babies who have been buried in unmarked graves will be placed in the Devonport General Cemetery, in Lawrence Drive, adjacent to the children’s area containing unmarked graves.
The application was made to Council by Soroptimist International of Devonport.
Council was told the placement of commemorative seats within the community, as endorsed by Council’s policy, is to commemorate individuals, organisations, businesses or clubs who have made a significant contribution to the community or to recognise a significant milestone.
The site requested by Soroptimist International of Devonport is in an area which would be suitable for the placement of a seat as there is no other seating available at the cemetery.
The cost of supplying and placing the seat will be met by the club and it will be installed by Council.
The club will also be responsible for supplying the plaque to be affixed to the seat.
