Should you feel the need to move your loved one from their final resting place, there are requirements to do this under the Burial and Cremation Act 2002. The first step is to approach the relevant Cemetery trust Manager.

They then apply to the Director of Public Health (Department of Health and Human Services) for approval.

Once this is obtained then Council will be notified by the Director and staff will either re-inter the body at a new spot or disinter into an approved coffin for transport.
