Your rates help pay for parks and sports ground maintenance, operation of community halls, road repairs, waste & recycling & other community services, just to name a few.

Rate Payment Options
Devonport City Council offers a variety of easy and convenient payment options:
Pay by Phone
To pay by VISA or Master-card, call Council’s Payment Hotline on 1300 886 451 (24/7).
Pay your rates online via our Secure Commonwealth Bank Online Payment Portal.
Contact your participating bank or credit union, via phone or internet. Learn more at BPay Website
You can now receive and store your rates notice in your online bank account with BPay View.
To find out how to register for BPay View talk to your financial institution or visit BPay.
Have your rates debited from your savings or cheque account on the instalment due dates or on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

Copies of this form are also available from Council’s Customer Service Centre located at 137 Rooke Street, Devonport.
Contact Centrelink to arrange for regular rates deductions from your Centrelink payments using CentrePay. Alternatively download a copy of the CentrePay form here.
Present your Rates Notice to any Service Tasmania shop, together with your payment.

- You can pay by cash, credit card (visa & mastercard), cheque or EFTPOS. Please bring your Rates Notice.
Cheque or money order payments are to be made payable to Devonport City Council and crossed ‘Not Negotiable’.

Experiencing Financial Hardship?
Residents suffering economic hardship as a result of the Coronavirus can apply to defer their rate payments for six months –- double the typical period for such arrangements – under a Hardship Policy approved by the Devonport City Council at April meeting.
