Rate Payment Options

Devonport City Council offers a variety of easy and convenient payment options:

Pay by Phone

To pay by VISA or Master-card, call Council’s Payment Hotline on 1300 886 451 (24/7).

Pay Online

Pay your rates online via our Secure Commonwealth Bank Online Payment Portal.

Pay by BPay – Biller Code 414 284

Contact your participating bank or credit union, via phone or internet.

BPay View

You can now receive and store your rates notice in your online bank account with BPay View.

Pay by Direct Debit from your Financial Institution

Have your rates debited from your savings or cheque account on the instalment due dates or on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

Copies of this form are also available from Council’s Customer Service Centre located at 137 Rooke Street, Devonport.

Pay by CentrePay

Contact Centrelink to arrange for regular rates deductions from your Centrelink payments using CentrePay.  Alternatively download a copy of the CentrePay form here.

Pay in Person

Visit our Customer Service Centre

  •  8.45am and 4.45pm, Monday to Friday.
  • We’re located at 137 Rooke Street, Devonport.
  • You can pay by cash, credit card (visa & mastercard), cheque or EFTPOS.  Please bring your Rates Notice.

Pay in Person at Service Tasmania

Present your Rates Notice to any Service Tasmania shop, together with your payment.

By Mail

Cheque or money order payments are to be made payable to Devonport City Council and crossed ‘Not Negotiable’.

Mail us your cheque or money order, noting the Property ID and Location details on the reverse to:
