Cracker Night

“Guy Fawkes Night” or “Fireworks Night” is celebrated by community members 24 May annually (if this date is not a Saturday, it’s celebrated on the following Saturday) with fireworks, bonfires, and other private festivities.

Note: Devonport City Council does not hold any public community events to celebrate the night.

Fireworks permits must be obtained to hold a fireworks display on 27 May, and applications must be submitted by Friday 5 May 2023 at a Service Tasmania Service Centre: Find information here: Apply for a fireworks permit | Service Tasmania
