Devonport tribute show to the world’s greatest voices

A tribute show to the world’s greatest voices is coming to Devonport on Saturday, 22 October at the paranaple arts centre.

Devonport City Council’s Performing Arts Supervisor Debbie Kershaw said The Great Tenors is a new production dedicated to the greatest tenors the world has ever known.

She said the production showcases their lives and their hits in one big show all in front of some wonderful imagery on the big screen.

“Show goers can expect hits and highlights for the likes of Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras, Bocelli, Mario Lanza, and Caruso to name just a few,” Mrs Kershaw said.

“But it’s not a stuffy Opera show … it’s a whole lot more.”

Promac Productions Producer Chris McKenna said The Great Tenors follows the outstanding success and several standing ovations, of The Kings of the High Cs production that toured Australia in 2019.

He said the wonderful cast of four is led by one of Australia’s finest tenors Roy Best from Opera Australia and guest soloist with the Australian Pops Orchestra, International Soprano Alison Jones, and is narrated by perennial favourite Christopher McKenna, with rising virtuoso at the piano William Schmidt.

“This production will be packed with hit-after-hit song made famous by three of the most successful Tenors the world has ever known,” Mr McKenna said.

“Classic hits such as Libiamo from La Traviata, O Sole Mio, Nessun Dorma, Grenada right through to Broadway hits such as Be My Love, Strangers in Paradise, Drink Drink, Some Enchanted Evening, Impossible Dream and many more.”

The Great Tenors will perform at 2pm on Saturday, 22 October 2022 at the paranaple arts centre in Devonport. Tickets are available online at www.paranapleartscentre.com.au [1]  or call (03) 6420 2900.
