Proposed Budget:               $300,000 from Drought Impact Program

Project Objective:              Asset upgrade

Project Justification:      Council resolved to “…consider during the 2019/20 budget deliberations, the allocation of funding in the five-year forward works program for the remaining study initiatives.”.  Work on pedestrian improvements on Bluff Road and signage improvements are scheduled to be completed in 2018-19.  There are 16 recommendations from the consultant study that are yet to be funded.  These include projects to improve safety, increase parking and improve pedestrian accessibility in the area

Project Scope:                  The priority projects for 2020/21 are to provide:

  • Pedestrian path along Bluff Access Road
  • Kerb ramps/ wombat crossing on William Street near Bluff Road/ William Street intersection
  • Indented parking on Bluff Road


Current Works & Projects

Bluff Headland – Handrail replacement and extension

The southern part of the path has a handrail, but a risk assessment has recommended that the handrail be extended to reduce the risk of falls. In addition, the existing handrail is approaching end of life and should be renewed at the same time.
