Mersey Bluff Inclusive Playground

Project Name:                     Mersey Bluff Inclusive Playground

Proposed Status:                Construction in 2020/21

Previous Status:                  Held over from 2019/20

Proposed Budget:              $96,000

Project Objective:              To  make the existing Bluff playground more inclusive.

Project Justification:       There has been growing community interest in inclusive play equipment over the last year.  The Rotary Club of Devonport is currently raising funds for a contribution to this type of equipment.

Assessments were carried out in 2018 for suitable locations for inclusive playground equipment. The Bluff precinct was the most favourable location due to its current amenities, parking and overall location. Much of the equipment at this playground is already inclusive.  However, some changes to existing equipment and some new equipment would significantly enhance the playground for users with higher needs.

Project scope:                      Provide new inclusive playground equipment between the current two playgrounds in the Bluff Plaza

The project will include shade sail and will involve new and modified equipment.
