Melrose Road – Morris Road intersection improvements

Project Name:                     Melrose Road – Morris Road intersection improvements

Proposed Status:                Construction in 2020/21

Previous Status:                  Not previously listed

Proposed Budget:              $75,000 funded by grant from Drought Impact Program

Project objective:              Asset upgrade – safety

Project justification:    This section of Melrose Road is narrow but subject to some use by heavy vehicles.  Morris Road is also used occasionally by heavy vehicles and is unsealed, meaning gravel can be deposited on the curve of Melrose Road.  An undersized culvert under Morris Road can be overwhelmed in heavy rain event, meaning water can run over Morris Road and Melrose Road, causing issues the loose gravel on the curve

Project scope:                  Widen Melrsoe Road on the bend and reseal, extending a new seal a few metres up Morris Road.  Upgrade the culvert under Morris Road
