Project Name:                     Lovett Street Pedestrian Facilities – Tasman Street to Lawrence Drive

Proposed Status:                Construct in 2019-20

Previous Status:                  No change

Proposed Budget:              $120,000 (including 50% external funding)

Project Objective:              Provide safe crossing points for pedestrians crossing at Lovett Street

Project justification:         Lovett Street is a wide street with no defined crossing points for pedestrians.  Around 2,800 vehicles travel on Lovett Street daily, with around 50% of these exceeding the 50km/h speed limit.  Providing two crossing points would cater for younger and older pedestrians who may require the facilities in the vicinity of the Devonport Soccer Club, the Karingal Aged Care facility and Hillcrest Primary School

The project will only proceed if the external funding can be secured

Project Scope:                     Installing kerb outstands adjacent to the bus stop and install a pedestrian refuge with holding rails for riders and pedestrians to stage their crossing. Line marking and signage would be included in the project
