Kiah Place – Playground equipment renewal

Project Name:                     Kiah Place – Playground equipment renewal

Proposed Status:               Construct in 2020/21

Previous Status:                 No change

Proposed Budget:              $78,000 from Federal Government’s Drought Impact Program

Project Objective:              Asset Renewal

Project Justification:     This playground was installed in 1996 and is far beyond its nominal useful life of 10 years.  Steel components were repainted in 2015 but the critical elements have now reached end of life

There has been conjecture about whether a playground is required at this location.  However, engagement with the East Devonport Special Interest Group and the local community has confirmed that there is demand for a playground in this location.  Volunteers have initiated a project to rejuvenate the areas surrounding the playground

Project Scope:                  Replace playground equipment to an equivalent scope.
