Project Objective:              Asset upgrade – safety

Project Justification:      Since the installation of traffic signals in 2012 at the intersection of Don Road, Lovett Street and Sorell Street a significant number of crashes has occurred. The crashes cover a wide range of crash types and modes of transport, including a motorcyclist, a pedestrian, and light vehicles.

Project Scope:                     Install line marking, traffic lane adjustment and street light installation

Bluff Headland – Handrail replacement and extension

The southern part of the path has a handrail, but a risk assessment has recommended that the handrail be extended to reduce the risk of falls. In addition, the existing handrail is approaching end of life and should be renewed at the same time.
