The Council is committed to reducing the waste sent to landfill and ensuring that our waste management practices meet environmental best practices. The Council Kerbside Waste Management Collection Service operates with Council property owners to supply mobile garbage bins.
These are the only bins that the collection contractor is required to empty. Please note, it is the applicant’s responsibility to notify the Council of any change of address and contact details.
Please note, that applying for an additional waste bin service does not imply approval. Successful applicants will satisfy the necessary criteria.
The first stage of assessing this application is for the Council to understand your current waste situation, the processes you have in place, and why the standard service is not sufficient. Once your application has been received, Council Officer will contact you via email.
All properties with a habitable/ residential building will attract a Waste Management Service Charge, which supports the provision of services throughout the Devonport City Municipality. The Service Charge entitles each property to all three services, including FOGO, Recycling and General Waste collection. The Service Charge is set and adopted each year by Council as part of the Rates Resolution in the Budget. Additional bins and collection services for a property will attract an additional Waste Management Service Charge.
