Criterion 1. Event Appeal

How will your event create a positive experience that resonates with the target audience, event stakeholders and broader Devonport community?(Required)

In your response consider the following:

Which demographic is your event aimed at?
Will the event have broad appeal to a range of ages and backgrounds or is it a specialised event? Please describe your target audience.
What makes your event unique and appealing?
How does event differ from and/or amplify other events? Why would people attend, participate in or pay attention to your event? Will the event leverage technical innovation or other trends (such as adventure tourism, sports tourism, low carbon etc). How can the event promote important community priorities? How will the event leave a lasting impression?

Criterion 2. Increase Devonport’s Profile

How will the event showcase Devonport’s unique qualities, maximise venues and spaces, and profile the city as a highly desirable place to live, work, visit and invest?(Required)

In your response consider the following:

How will the event showcase Devonport’s qualities? Such as cultural heritage, natural assets, creative industries, food producers etc.
How will the event maximise the use of public open spaces and/or built assets?
How will you promote the event to encourage positive exposure for the Devonport community? How will you leverage the event and brand the City to create atmosphere, local pride, exposure to visitors?
How will your promotion strategy and activities maximise attendance and if relevant, encourage increased length of stay for event attendees?

Criterion 4. Social benefit

How will the event engage community stakeholders and create positive social impacts, including wellbeing, inclusion, community spirit? How will the event demonstrate sound environmental practices?(Required)

Opportunities for community stakeholders (community groups, volunteers, First Nations people etc) to be involved in your event
How will the event promote individual and community health and wellbeing? Belonging, connectedness, pride, physical/mental health etc
Is the event inclusive and accessible by all? If so, how?
How will the event address possible barriers to participation/attendance? For instance, affordability, transport
How will the event demonstrate sound environmental practices? Consider energy efficacy, carbon footprint, waste reduction, pollution etc.

Criterion 5. Value for relevant money

Applicants are required to demonstrate the event’s financial viability and how the event offers value for relevant money, taking consideration of:

Council’s contribution and other funding sources as a percentage of the total event budget.
The scale of the event;
Generation of economic and social benefits in line with community and Event Strategy priorities.

Please upload a robust and detailed budget with supporting information. This includes major line items of income and expenditure with explanation/breakdown of how budget amounts have been derived. Cash and in-kind amounts and their sources are to be included. All figures to be provided as GST exclusive.(Required)
