Council seeks expressions of interest for membership of advisory and working groups

The Devonport City Council is seeking expressions of interest for membership of Council’s advisory and working groups.

The period of membership will be from 22 November 2021 until June 2023.

The Devonport Special Committees established under Section 24 of the Local Government Act 1993 are:

  • Devonport Regional Gallery Advisory Committee – provides advice to Council on the development, promotion and accessibility of the visual arts, as an integral part of Devonport’s cultural life, with a particular focus on the Devonport Regional Gallery.
  • Public Art Committee – provides advice to Council on the planning, development and accessibility of public art, as an integral part of Devonport’s cultural life.
  • Access and Inclusion Working Group – provides advice to Council on the key focus areas and action plan contained within the Disability Inclusion Plan 2020-2025.

Devonport Mayor Cr Annette Rockliff, said members of Council’s advisory and working groups play an important role in helping to shape the city and she encouraged all interested people to lodge an expression of interest.

“On behalf of Council I wish to thank all those who have previously served on committees and working groups for their time and effort to date.

“Council would encourage anyone who has a special interest in one or more of the groups to put their name forward,” Cr Rockliff said.

Expressions of interest can be submitted up until 1 November 2021.
