Ratepayers and residents of Devonport are encouraged to have their say and put forward their ideas for projects and initiatives as part of the 2023/24 budget consultation process.
Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman said the annual consultation process provides the community with an opportunity to have input into the budget process, by sharing their ideas directly with Council for consideration in the upcoming 2023/24 budget.
“The annual budget consultation process enables members of the Devonport community to help shape the budget for the upcoming financial year, by forwarding their ideas and suggestions for consideration”, Cr Jarman said.
“Community input is a vital way that ratepayers and residents can be involved in the upcoming budget’s development, and to ensure that ideas generated by the community are considered as part of the budget deliberations”.
“The community is encouraged to visit Speak Up Devonport on Council’s website, or lodge a submission via email or form, to submit their ideas and suggestions that will help shape the delivery of future projects, infrastructure and activities”.
Cr Jarman said the budget consultation had proven successful in the past with many ideas submitted forming part of adopted budgets.
Ideas can be submitted through Speak Up Devonport, by emailing [email protected], by completing a form available from Council’s Customer Service Centre or in writing to PO Box 604, Devonport, Tas, 7310.
Submissions can be made until 5pm on Tuesday, 28 February 2023.
