Devonport's unique location on the banks of the Mersey River on the North West Coast of Tasmania, offers up a special blend of environmental experiences.  Council currently has in place a number of strategies and programs to assist in maintaining a strong environmental focus throughout the city. 

Ranging from the management of our Public Open Space, volunteer and working bee programs, through to our Street Tree Planning Strategy, these innovative and exciting programs will ensure that the pristine environment which surrounds us, remains so for many years to come.
