Piping of Open Drain and Translocation of Central North Burrowing Crayfish from Sheffield Road

The Devonport City Council is undertaking an action (piping of an existing drain) on Sheffield Road which requires conformance to an agreed process for translocating a colony of Engaeus granulatus (Burrowing Crayfish), a species with a status of Endangered, under both the Tasmanian Threatened Species Protection Act 1995, and the Commonwealth Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

The documents describe the existing site, the translocation site, the flora and fauna values in the locations and the way in which the action is to be undertaken for compliance with the approval of the Piping of Open Drain and Translocation of Burrowing Crayfish at Sheffield Road, Devonport, Tasmania (EPBC 2011/6095) under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Documentation relating to the proposal is available in the Document Library on Speak Up Devonport. If you have special needs and require assistance in accessing the material, please call (03) 6424 0511. Electronic versions of the documents are available on CD from the Devonport City Council for a small fee.
