Devonport City Council recognises the immense community benefit provided to our residents and visitors by local community organisations through the provision of opportunity for involvement in activities in Devonport. Consequently Council have developed a Financial Assistance Scheme as one method of supporting and assisting local organisations in providing additional options for the Devonport Community.
The Financial Assistance Scheme has 5 funding programs which are:
- Community Small Grants Program
- Events Assistance Scheme
- Major Capital Works
- Donations
- Scholarships and Bursaries
Community Small Grants and Events Assistance NOW OPEN.
The first round of Council's Financial Assistance Grants for 2009/2010 is now open. Applications close 5pm Friday 9 October 2009.
Community Small Grants Program
Up to $3,000 is available for community groups to provide programs, improve safety, undertake minor capital works, purchase equipment or improve community involvement and access to information, services and facilities.

Events Assistance Scheme
The Events Assistance Program provides support for local based social, cultural, sport and recreational events that attract local, regional and statewide audiences, attract publicity and create commercial benefits for the City.

Major Capital Works Program
The Major Capital Works Program provides financial and in kind contributions to assist local groups to expand or improve their facilities or infrastructure.
Donations
Provides philanthropic assistance to individuals and groups in the pursuit of excellence, provision of community services or support for charitable appeals.
Scholarships & Bursaries
To assist local students attending the University of Tasmania.
