Transfer Station Print
The Waste Transfer Station was opened in December 1996. It is a waste management facility for the separation and disposal of rubbish, with a strong emphasis on recycling.

Monday to Saturday: 7.30 am to 4.00 pm
Sundays: 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm
Public Holidays: 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm

Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday.

Recyclable Waste 
The items listed below can be deposited free of charge at the Waste Transfer Station provided they are placed in the appropriate areas to enable recycling:

  • cardboard and paper;
  • glass bottles and jars (rinse items and remove lids); 
  • aluminium and steel cans; 
  • grease/oils (eg engine oil, mineral oil); 
  • gas cylinders;
  • plastic products with Plastics Identification Code numbers 1, 2 or 3 (same as for kerbside recycling collection);
  • white goods/electrical appliances;
  • HDPE plastic food containers (eg milk, cream, fruit juices etc);
  • liquid paper cartons (eg milk, fruit juices, custard etc);
  • car batteries; and
  • motor vehicle bodies

Residents can deposit garden/organic waste (eg grass clippings, weeds, flowers, prunings and clippings) and uncontaminated timber at the Waste Transfer Station for a small fee.

Agricultural Chemicals
The Waste Transfer Station is an accredited drumMUSTER facility.
drumMUSTER is the national program for the collection and recycling of empty, cleaned, non-returnable crop production and on-farm animal health chemical containers.
