The Waste Transfer Station was opened in December 1996. It is a waste management facility for the separation and disposal of rubbish, with a strong emphasis on recycling.

Sundays: 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm

Recyclable Waste
The items listed below can be deposited free of charge at the Waste Transfer Station provided they are placed in the appropriate areas to enable recycling:
- cardboard and paper;
- glass bottles and jars (rinse items and remove lids);
- aluminium and steel cans;
- grease/oils (eg engine oil, mineral oil);
- gas cylinders;
- plastic products with Plastics Identification Code numbers 1, 2 or 3 (same as for kerbside recycling collection);
- white goods/electrical appliances;
- HDPE plastic food containers (eg milk, cream, fruit juices etc);
- liquid paper cartons (eg milk, fruit juices, custard etc);
- car batteries; and
- motor vehicle bodies
Residents can deposit garden/organic waste (eg grass clippings, weeds, flowers, prunings and clippings) and uncontaminated timber at the Waste Transfer Station for a small fee.
Agricultural Chemicals
The Waste Transfer Station is an accredited drumMUSTER facility.
drumMUSTER is the national program for the collection and recycling of empty, cleaned, non-returnable crop production and on-farm animal health chemical containers.
Please contact the Waste Transfer Station beforehand as appointments are necessary.
