Immunisations

Sessions are held by the Devonport City Council to enable children to receive the recommended immunisations. Parents/guardians are asked to bring their Medicare Card with them to assist in getting immunisation details onto the National Childhood Immunisation Register.

2012/13 Immunisation Clinic Dates

Immunisation sessions will be held every fourth Tuesday at the East Devonport Recreation Centre, Caroline Street, East Devonport between 3pm and 4pm - no appointment necessary.

Dates are advertised in Council's page of the Friday Advocate Newspaper or by contacting Devonport City Council on 6424 0511. Below are the dates the clinic will be held in 2011/12.

Note:

  1. Pneumococcal vaccine is funded under the NIP for children born from 1 January 2005.
  2. Four doses of Hib vaccine are due at 2, 4, 6 and 12 months of age when 'PRP-T Hib' containing vaccine is used.
  3. Meningococcal C vaccine is funded under the NIP for children born from 1 January 2002.
  4. Varicella vaccine is funded under the NIP for children born from 1 May 2004.
  5. Rotavirus vaccine is funded under the NIP for children born from 1 May 2007.
  6. Three doses of Rotavirus vaccine are due at 2, 4, and 6 months of age when RotaTeq is used.

Council also conducts school immunisation clinics annually with Hepatitis B, Varicella (chicken pox vaccine) and Gardasil (cervical cancer vaccine) offered in Grade 7, Adult Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertusis (Whooping Cough)in Grades 10.
