Breast milk is the best and most natural food for infants. Breastfeeding protects babies from illness and infection, provides the correct food for growing babies, aids the development of a baby's eyesight, speech and intelligence, reduces heath risks for mothers and is cheap and convenient. The ideal nutritional start to life is breast milk, and nothing else, for the first six months of life.
The following Devonport retailers and community facilities have received accreditation as a breastfeeding friendly venue. These venues have a welcoming attitude, a smoke free environment, and have room to move a pram. Look out for Breast Feeding Welcome Here sticker in their window.
