Registering Your Dog

Required to be Registered

Dogs are required to be registered with Council once they are six (6) months old.

The easiest way to register your new dog is to fill out the online dog registration form.  

You will need to provide details of the animal’s micro-chip number and de-sexing certificate (if applicable) when completing the form.

Dogs can either be registered annually or for life – no matter how long he/she lives.  If you choose to register your dog annually we will send you a renewal notice each year.  Registration fees are payable by 31st July every year, with discounts available on most fees if paid by this date.

The Dog Control Act 2000 requires all dogs over the age of six (6) months must be microchipped.

All dogs over the age of six (6) months that are not registered or microchipped will be in breach of the Dog Control Act 2000Failure to comply may result in fines of $173 for each offence.
